Managers ship culture, not pixels

The day I stopped pushing pixels was the day I started shipping the thing that actually scales: how the team decides.

For a while I mourned the craft. I missed being the person whose hands were on the file. Then I noticed the work I was proudest of had my fingerprints nowhere on the surface and everywhere in the reasoning behind it.

The output is the team

A manager's deliverable is a team that makes good calls when you are not in the room. You ship that with the standards you defend, the tradeoffs you name out loud, and the crits you make safe. The pixels take care of themselves after that.
